Technology & Gadgets

There any so many gadgets you can employ to add “something more” to your walk with Christ. Here’s a few things that you might find useful.

1. If you’ve got the internet at home and you use a “Router” to provide wireless access around the home you can take advantage of an “Internet Radio” that links to your wireless system. Place the radio anywhere around the home and you can listen to hundreds of Christian radio stations. We have placed ours in the kitchen and very often play UCB Bible which is a 24 hour broadcast of the audio bible. Simply great if you’ve got unsaved family who spend time in the kitchen ironing or making a cuppa!

2. The “Internet Radio” also has the function to play your MP3 media that stored on your PC, so if like me you’ve got a large selection of teaching on your hard drive you can listen to it while you cook, wash or other household activity.

3. The next time you buy a mobile phone you might want to consider the operating system of the phone. I always stick with “Windows Mobile” as this lets me download and install “e-sword” a free bible study software for your PC and mobile. Considering this software is free its functionality and usability is fantastic.

4. If your car’s got a stereo that allows you to play MP3′s you can download teaching from www.thenarrowpath.com and burn onto disc for hours of bible study in the car. My job requires at least 3-4 hours of car travel each week and on these trips I take the chance to listen to some great teaching from this site.

5. E-Pen, have you heard of this little gadet? – The epen allows you to write up to 50 sides of A4 on normal paper and the device will record each page and when attached to a computer will allow the accompanying software to convert your writing to “MS Word”. How cool is that! Taking notes for the next bible study can take place anywhere and then later brought back to the PC.

6. The E Reader is a great gadget that allows you to carry thousands of books with you on a simple electronic tablet. There are many on the market and all have their pro’s and con’s. I’ve purchased a SONY as it allows me to download free PDF books and then transfer them to my reader for hours of free and legal reading.
